Ray landed on Earth at Walther Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Ray was very young when he was born. He grew rather quickly. Now all his clothes don't fit. This makes him angry and frustrated. So he creates music to help him cope with this upside down world we live in and his extremely tight pants.
Ray Kainz is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, performer, singer, songwriter, tone connoisseur and gear head currently residing in Austin, TX USA.
Smart progressive pop is how Ray describes his original tunes. Hooks and melodies amid structured artistic compositions more often than not with plenty of cool guitar hooks, licks and tones.
Ray studied music composition and instrumental performance earning a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College Chicago. Since then Ray has produced music for TV and radio commercials, worn eye liner and snarled at audiences all over the US, put his hair up in a pompadour and rocked audiences in multiple hemispheres, but lately Ray can be seen wearing trucker hats and performing with Hot Dirt rockers Brodie Lane who deliver their fiery blend of roots-rock, alt-country and southern rock, and also with alt-country/pop sensation Kelly Monrow whose debut release Scars of Venus is receiving rave revues.
